Summary
Because of the diverse background, education and experience of the faculty and staff members associated with the Franklin Furniture Institute, RESEARCH areas are varied and comprehensive, covering the entire product and all processes involved in the design, production, marketing, promotion, and delivery of the product.Distance Learning Opportunities are offered through portable multi-media presentation stations for teaching purposes and for seminars, workshops, and training sessions at the Franklin Center. Also available is an auditorium, a classroom and a computer room, providing a means for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors to interact with students, educators, researchers and their workforce.
Exposure to all business disciplines, international business, and technical training, are a part of the Workforce Enhancement programs. Workshops, training programs and study courses are offered for improving and enhancing technical skills and applications. Employee development activities are available to assist with basic educational skills improvement, worker safety, and management/leadership skills.
Customized educational and skills development courses are available upon the request of an individual company.
Materials, natural and manmade, joints, frames, cushions and springs are examined and evaluated through the Institute's furniture testing program.
