Summary
The Franklin Furniture Institute (formally the Institute for Furniture Manufacturing and Management) is a multi-disciplinary effort involving Mississippi State's colleges of Forest Resources, Business and Industry, Engineering, and Architecture.Degree programs within the College of Forest Resources and the College of Business and Industry support the educational objectives of the Institute. The Forestry Department within the College of Forest Resources offers an accredited degree program in forest products. The College of Business and Industry provides a Furniture Manufacturing Management track within its General Business Administration major to address business marketing and management needs within the industry.
Mississippi State University is linked to one of the most extensive networks of Community Colleges in the country. The linkage between Mississippi State University and this network supports an effective delivery system for new technology and programs to enhance the capabilities of the current workforce. A state of-the-art electronic classroom and auditorium housed within the Franklin Center provides capabilities to effectively deliver new knowledge and information to the furniture industry and enhance problem-solving skills of the workforce.
