- Are you searching for information to help export your products?
- Do you need fresh sales leads?
- Are you interested in a joint-venture partner overseas?
Selling overseas can seem out of reach and complicated. The Franklin Furniture Institute (FFI) makes exporting easier by working directly with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce’s Mississippi Export Assistance Center (MSEAC) and the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) to provide an Export Resource Service (ERS) program. ERS partners save you time by helping to identify promising leads targeted at the furniture-related industry through world-wide resources. In addition to trade leads, ERS partners can also provide businesses with current industry essentials to help Mississippi exporters obtain the information they need to sell in overseas markets.
How it Works
International trade leads for furniture manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, and all furniture-related businesses are available to companies listed on Franklin Furniture Institute’s distribution list. These trade leads are pre-screened through U.S. Department of Commerce offices around the world and either forwarded to FFI by MSEAC or obtained directly by FFI. Once communications are established with the overseas Buyer’s organization and specifics are matched to industry interests, contact information and details on the new lead are forwarded to your company. Your company will then launch a dialogue with the Buyer’s contact and determine if your company is interested in further pursuing the trade lead.
Progress reports from companies indicating an initial interest in a specific trade lead will be requested in approximately two weeks following the submission of a new lead. As the central distribution point, contact will be made by FFI and additional assistance will be provided if needed.
ERS provides and promotes trade opportunities and assists with problem solving, logistics, marketing research and trade shows for the furniture industry and related stakeholders.
Meetings for counsel and training workshops/seminars may be scheduled through visits by FFI and MSEAC staff who will work closely with the Mississippi Furniture Association to enhance programs for opportunities in overseas markets.
